Exclusive Backstage First Dance Wedding Songs

So you've made it to our backstage first dance wedding songs! How did this unique concept come about? These were a happy accident which started a couple of years ago, when we heard some of our musicians rehearsing a Jewish Wedding First Dance Song, in our dressing room at the Langham Hotel, London. The vocal harmonies were fabulous and it just seemed like one of those things which should be caught on camera. Too often in these days of over produced X Factor style performances it can be hard to recognise real talent and what's a computer. These videos showcase raw ability... you're literally hearing great musicians and singers with no trickery. We've deliberately kept the production of these videos simple and honest - Just a camera and microphone so you can really get a feel for what these expert musicians can do.I'm sure you've picked up from the rest of our website that creating personal and bespoke performances is what we love doing. It seemed natural that we should then give these films to our Brides & Grooms;  firstly to give them an exclusive peek backstage, secondly and most importantly give them something unique and personal, that they can treasure forever. What song will you choose for your first dance?

Unchained Melody

This is Barry & Beryl's first dance and is fabulous old classic by The Righteous Brothers. They got married in Birmingham in City Hall and this film features Nick on vocals and Stelios on guitar. We were delighted to work alongside Celia Clyne Catering and Toastmaster Daniel Stollar.

All Of Me

Not to be confused with the old jazz classic, this version is by John Legend. It's packed full of emotion and is a popular choice. This first dance features Nick on vocals backed by Mike on keyboards and was recorded backstage for Rikki and Amanda, at the Queens Hotel in Leeds.

At Last

This film featured Irish vocalist Rosalee and Stelios on guitar performing at film fanatics Debbie & Kyle's Hollywood themes Jewish Wedding. At Last is by Etta James and never fails to wow at that special moment of the day.

Song Bird

Song Bird was made famous by the incredible singer Eva Cassidy. Our version was recorded backstage at the Landmark Hotel in London for Gary & Ali's Simcha. Like the film above it features both Rose and Stelios but with addition of Natasha on vocals.

Rock Wit'cha

A slightly unusual choice for sure, but weddings in our eyes are all about create moments which are special and unique. This Bobby Brown song was the perfect first dance for Lauren & Dan. They booked the 9 piece Metropolis Showband at Luton Hoo in Hertfordshire, as well as booking their staging, sound and lighting through us. This features Nick, Tash, Rose and Metropolis regular Adam on guitar...

I Swear

Who remembers this smash hit from the 90s by All4One? We do and so did Elliot and Jess who got married at the The Landmark Hotel in Central London.

I'm Yours

A Jason Mraz song which perfectly sums up what a wedding is all about. We performed this as part of a rare Jewish Irish wedding at The Mere Hotel in Manchester. This features Nick, Stelios, Rose and Holly.

Can't Take My Eyes Off You

This is actually a perfect first and last dance which has been recorded by countless artists but most notably made famous by Franki Vali. This features Nick, Stelios and Toby on percussion. It was recorded in The Galleries at One Marylebone in Central London. If you listen carefully you can even hear the traffic from Marylebone Road just outside!

Only Love

An incredible Ben Howard song which was recorded at Gibson Hall right in the City of London for Niccy & Rob. This features Paul on vocals, Kirsten and Tash on backing vocals and Lee on guitar.

You're My Best Friend

Ben and Michelle are huge heavy metal fans. A classic Queen song with a fabulous sentiment was right up their street. This feature Mike on the Stockbrook Park's grand piano, Nick on lead vocals and Holly and Matt on Backing Vocals.

You Are So Beautiful

Again recorded right in the middle of Central London at the Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, this was Laura & Ryan's special song. This featured Metropolis regulars Mike and Nick in our dressing room.... just before we it performed as a full band to over 200 guests.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough

This was the moment which started the whole backstage first dance concept! Ain't No Mountain High Enough was Sam & Emma's chosen song. We'd knew Sam, a great singer himself (who performed with us at the wedding), would love hear these harmonies... so out came the camera and this is exactly how it happened...
