Live Music Design16 Piece Band, Wedding Singers & DJ

If you read our blog last month you would have seen we supplied live music design and event production for the wedding of Victoria & Steve in Essex. Managed by Deirdre Morgan, director of The Crown Group, this was never set to be any ordinary wedding! Here is the live music design:

16 Piece Band

Metropolis largest 16 piece act was booked and featured no less than 5 vocalists and a 4 piece brass section. The brief was:‘Build intensity gradually throughout the night’We did this by starting with a small line up and slowly building. After much consultation it was decided to give each function band set a theme / direction:

• Set one – ‘unplugged’ – 6 piece band

• Set two – ‘funky soul’ – 9 piece band

• Set three – ‘party set one’ – 13 piece band

• Set four – ‘party set two’ – 16 piece band

Wedding Singers

The client also requested live music between each course.  We hit upon the idea of the ‘wedding singers’. The vocalists would sang three songs, each covering a contrasting style:• Wedding Singer Nick: Crooning / Michael Buble• Wedding Singer Holly: Modern Pop• Wedding Singer Jules: 80s Power Ballads• Wedding Singer Haley: Soul Power

DJ

Ambient music is key to creating and maintaining atmosphere. The DJ completes the picture. Gauging the perfect song for critical moments is what makes the Metropolis DJ key to any entertainment packageIf reading about live music design for The Crown Group has inspired you why not drop us a line to discus your bespoke live music selection -  contact us.James Eager's Signature - Director, Metropolis Productions Ltd  [widgetkit id=2562]
