Barry The Voice

I have a friend called Barry.  He has a band. They do covers and earn some extra money by playing at pub gigs. There’s a lot I like about Barry. He’s never made it big and he doesn’t care because he enjoys every moment of his life, in particular his family. When I hear Barry sing I think “What a voice!” I wish I had one.

The Voice

Why does Barry’s voice impress me so much? Well, that voice is full of joy, fun and character. Effective, joyous, infectious, rasping, impish and more; that voice appeals because the voice is him and he can express himself to an audience and be appreciated.

Love is Blind

I was watching ‘The Voice’ on BBC1 on Saturday and I loved it. Why? Because it’s a ‘blind audition’ the judges including THE VOICE Sir Tom Jones don’t see who is singing until their chairs turn. Only the contestant’s voice matters, not their looks and not what they are wearing or the way they move. Looks are not important when you want to listen to a band, it helps, but it’s the talent.

Not Just a Pretty Face

Pretty helps, stylish clothes capture our eyes, good moves make us joyous but it all comes to naught if the voice is not there and the voice should be honest and full of fun.  Close your eyes and listen, it’s more intense isn’t it?

O’ to be a judge on The Voice. The very wonderful Jessie J, ticking away like an alarm, Tom Jones, our voice, will.i.am for something off court and the likeable Danny O’Donoghue all play a game that will result in a ‘contender’ becoming a voice. They will make a fairy tale come true.
