Here at Metropolis HQ another busy Christmas is shaping up. With a trip to Kolkata in India next week the Christmas function season kicks off shortly after. One especially interesting event we have in the book is for a James Bond Party Band. Being held at Brighton Grand for banking giant Santander this has all the makings for an unbelievable night!

    13 Piece Party Band

Originally down as the Metropolis 9 piece band, when the head honcho saw our show band video he said he wanted ‘more’… that he got. We would have gone even bigger If the room wasn’t packed to capacity with over 350 guests.

    Late Night Club Atmosphere

Like many corporate functions we have to cater for a cross section of musical tastes and age groups. Santander is no different however they do have considerable amount of younger people in their workforce.  So that’s where we join force with RMG Music to give an hour and half of the finest DJ club music late into the night. Who needs to go ‘clubbing’ afterwards!

    Modern Party Band Playlist

So the DJ can go ‘modern’ why can’t the band? That’s exactly the question we asked. Metropolis pride themselves in being really able to handle current chart music. Using the correct technology is key – that comes as standard. Check out previous blog posts that explain how we attack the latest Rihanna, Jessy J or Taio Cruz with complete authenticity.

    …and of course James Bond

No James Bond themed evening would be complete without some of the iconic tunes. Plenty to chose from….Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, Licence to Kill just to name a few. All these add that extra bit of Bond magic.

I know it’s know is not exactly in keeping with the theme but why not watch our latest Metropolis Showband Video above to get a taste of what’s in store? Literally hot off the press!

    All the best

PP022 | Nick Ingram | Lifting The Curtain On Bespoke Music For The Events Industry

Hello and welcome to a brand new year with us here on Planner’s Pod! We have lots of new and exciting things in store for all of you and we do hope you stay with us as we unveil them.

In this episode, we decided to start things up by having Metropolis’ very own Nick Ingram, our Creative Director, for the first time here on the show. Many of you have been curious and have asked us about how we do things in the company. So, what better way to open this up for discussion than having a team member on board.

Here we discuss the ins and outs of how to manage a live-band company, what sort of sticky situations we all get into and how we try to deal with those, as well as how to engage with clients and knowing them on a personal level to give them a unique and wonderful musical experience during their event.
