How far does Metropolis travel? Worldwide...
How much do Metropolis charge? Every event varies in price and depends on factors such as location, venue, set up/ finish times and the type of event.
Is a disco required as well as the band? Metropolis can supply a DJ to provide the complete entertainment package. CDs can be played whilst the band is not on stage as an alternative.
How long do Metropolis play for? Normally, the band plays for 2 x 1 hour sets, however this can be flexible and reality the set are generally longer.
What equipment do Metropolis provide? A top-line PA is brought to every gig regardless of size, to produce CD quality sound. As standard Metropolis uses a 2.4k HK audio system which is capable of filling most sized dance floors. Professional crew are always supplied and equipment is fully maintained so the stage always looks neat and tidy. Microphones are available for speeches and presentations which must be pre-booked before the event. Radio microphones can also be hired at extra cost. A lighting system is provided for the stage area.
Is Metropolis insured? All equipment is ‘PAT’ safety tested and Metropolis holds public liability insurance to give both client and venue complete peace of mind.
Does Metropolis have any specific requirements?
Set Up: Metropolis normally requires one and a half hours to set up and sound check. The sound check takes place at the volume the band will be performing. No guests can be in the room. For weddings this can normally be slotted in after speeches when the room is cleared for the evening reception. However, sometimes this isn't always possible and an early set maybe required which normally costs extra.
Load in: The client must advise us in advance what the load in is like. e.g.: If the room is up several flights of steep stairs extra time and crew may be required.
Stage size: Minimum stage size for the 6 piece band is 4m(w) x 3m(d), 8 piece is 5m(w)x 4m(d), 9 piece is 6m(w) x 5m and for the 13 Piece 10(w) x 7(d). Whilst a purpose built stage if preferable Metropolis is more than happy to work with out one.
Power: 4 individual 13 amp plug sockets / feeds.
Food: A HOT meal and drinks for band and crew served before the performance.
Changing Room: A private, lockable area with furniture,heating, light and power.
Noise restrictions: Metropolis must be advised of any noise restrictions or any other factors which may affect the performance when the contract is drawn up.
Parking: The client must provide adequate parking for all the bands vehicles. If parking fees or the congestion charge are incurred the client is normally expected to reimburse these.
Do Metropolis require a deposit? A 25% deposit is required before any date can be reserved. The balance is required one week before the event.
How do Metropolis dress? Either smart black suits or smart black casual depending on the event. Whilst not performing, the band are always dressed respectably.
How is the set list chosen? The client is welcome to have an input into the music however, all the music is arranged in tried and tested medleys which we know work.
